The Snow Ball 2014

The Windham Textile and History Museum’s popular black-tie optional fundraising event, the Snow Ball, was a success!

Thanks to everyone who helped put it together and to everyone who attended.

The Snow Ball was held Saturday, January 25, in the Bruce Bellingham Auditorium at Windham Town Hall.

About 120 people came to enjoy themselves and dance the night away, courtesy of the fabulous dance band, The Red Satins.  Proceeds generated for the evening was about $6,000, all towards the Paint the Museum Fund.  A special thanks to Cafemantic for providing the catering and to  Windham Wine & Spirits for the alcohol.

In addition to tickets and a silent auction, there were a number of notable sponsors. Sen. Richard Blumenthal helped us raise $1,000 by auctioning off breakfast for a group at the Senate Cafeteria (on him, not the taxpayer) and a personal tour of the Senate.

Other sponsors included the Foster Family Foundation, the Eastern Connecticut State University Foundation, the Windham Memorial Hospital Foundation, Bill and Joan Goba, John McGrath, Janet Jones, Mary Lou DeVivo, and Charles and Pamela Shooks. About 20 local restaurants donated gift certificates for the silent auction.

Eastern Connecticut State University art students of Dr. June Bisantz created the lovely posters, and other ECSU student volunteers carried heavy items. Lynn Duval deserves special mention for helping organize and put on the event.
